A Meat Clerk’s responsibilities include the following:

  • Providing excellent customer service, by greeting them and responding to their questions proactively
  • Cutting and preparing meat for sale and waiting on customers as needed for the Meat counter area
  • Promoting product by providing customers with information needed to make informed decisions
  • Operating scale
  • Assisting in ordering the proper amount of product for the meat department
  • Maintaining, filling and rotating product and displaying it properly
  • Maintaining the company's high standards for product freshness and sanitation
  • Selecting and wrapping product for customers
  • Cleaning scales and cutting areas
  • Assisting in other duties as assigned in Meat.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be able to frequently lift 40 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds with assistance
