Job
KURU Footwear is in the process of migrating to Shopify as our Ecommerce Platform. As such, we are looking for an experienced Ecommerce Leader with deep expertise in Shopify.
Our Ecommerce Manager drives our strategy, team and processes to achieve a stable, scalable tech stack that delivers an unmatched user experience, conversion rate and ensures quality data and analytics. This role requires a strong knowledge mix of marketing channels & tactics, user experience and conversion optimization and industry leading ecommerce technology.
In this role, the Ecommerce Manager acts as the product owner of our website and the technologies and applications required. The following are key focus areas for the role.
- Website conversion rate optimization
- Average order value optimization
- User experience optimization
- Website page load speed & core web vitals
- Technical SEO optimization & maintenance
- Ecommerce team management & process
- Maintaining product categories & listings
- Management of agencies and contractors supporting our ecommerce solutions
- Establishing and maintain website security & privacy
- Rationalizing and maintaining the suite of technologies and applications that make up our stack
- Product feed management
- Up time, backup, recovery
Responsibilities
Strategy and Planning
- Clearly define the imperatives and objectives of Ecommerce for KURU Footwear
- Establish and maintain a roadmap that accomplishes the strategy
- Understand cross functional (Marketing, Brand, CX, Product, Finance, Inventory etc.) strategy & plans and plans into Ecommerce roadmap
- Regular evaluation of new technologies. Incorporate in roadmap where necessary
- Alignment of financial objectives with Ecommerce solutions and plans
Process
- Define and document the “KURU Way” or in other words the core processes of Ecommerce including;
- Purpose/objective per initiative, platform, network and their individual campaigns
- Key performance indicators for each Ecommerce effort
- Process for measuring and reporting on results
- Onboarding and ongoing training and development of the Ecommerce team
- Process for managing agencies, vendors and contractors supporting Ecommerce
- Build processes to regularly evaluate and ensure branding is consistent across the website
- Build processes to regularly evaluate and update design/UX based on latest standards
- Create product reporting and analytics to demonstrate measurement and improvement of user experience, conversion and average order value
- Build user experiences that emphasize the jobs-to-done that KURU Footwear solves while highlighting the core value propositions and reasons to believe in the product line
People
- Determine and justify team structure
- Hire, train and retain the Ecommerce team
- Set clear targets per role and hold team members accountable through EOS Level-10 processes
- Create an environment of curiosity, tenaciousness, scrappiness, ownership and proactivity
Technology
- Approach technology innovation with a best-in-class, buy versus build mentality
- Approach technology with a balanced goal of cost optimization and efficiency
- Speed to edit, iterate and publish is an imperative
- Establish technical requirements documentation to validate each technology implementation
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand product and operational requirements to be met and ensure operational excellence
- Keep quality assurance methodologies up-to-date, maintain high standards for usability
- Regularly identify and implement automations to achieve efficiencies and establish safeguards (e.g. scripts, notifications, reporting etc.)
