L’Italien Home Renovation and Design has been servicing homeowners and businesses throughout Massachusetts for over 35 years, and we are now in search of a hardworking, reliable Contractor's Assistant to help us to continue to grow. By joining our team as a Contractor's Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting on a wide range of repairs, constructions, and renovations at residential and commercial locations throughout Middlesex and Essex counties. These tasks include demo/debris disposal, and assistance with general carpentry, including kitchen/bath renovations, deck/porch repairs, and window/door installations, among others. We will expect you to be on time, organized and have good time management skills as well as familiarity with general home repair. We pride ourselves on exceeding client expectations, so a keen eye for detail and a strong work ethic are valued greatly in this job.

You will be expected to use a personal vehicle (pickup truck preferred) and carry/utilize your own basic tools (any extraordinary equipment / tools will be provided as needed). Health insurance coverage preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience residential maintenance and repair
  • Excellent with common hand and power tools
  • Comfortable with heights preferred
  • Well-organized and apt in problem-solving
  • Valid state driver's license and insurance
  • Reliable vehicle able to carry tools and equipment (*PICKUP TRUCK PREFERRED*)
  • Willingness to uphold company standards for safety, service, and efficiency
  • Ability to communicate well with team members and customers
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist tradespeople with carpentry/remodeling projects
  • Perform maintenance and light repairs
  • Undertake light installation or assembly (e.g. furniture, TV mounts)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues appropriately
  • Positive attitude and great communication skills
  • Communicate with customer about work completed
  • Safely use tools and equipment
  • Ability to determine when issues need to be escalated

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Temporary

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week
