Job Description:
The Account Executive is accountable for delivery of retail sales per door and corporate goals through management of a team of coordinators, beauty advisors, and retail sales specialists. The Account Executive will also be responsible for building & maintaining store-level relationships to improve partnership and delivery of brand goals.
Leadership and Development
- Attract, retain, & develop talent in alignment with brand goals/talent needs
- Coordinators, Beauty Advisors, and Retail Sales Specialists
- Provide in the moment coaching & development for selling teams
Business Analysis, Strategy and Budgeting
- Build and maintain relationships with local retailers & store leaders to align priorities, strategize & problem solve; lead and prepare retailer presentations
- Retail Sales Specialist budgets (ex: ROI) to deliver against brand strategies & targets; monitor & adjust based on business performance
- Identify opportunity areas (e.g., growth/under-penetration) and develop door strategy business case to shift or increase investment
- Analyze daily, monthly and seasonal brand and brand competitor performance within territory to inform strategies
- Schedule call cycle visits based on door count/assessment
In Store Planning and Execution
- Identify and ideate opportunities for innovation within local market; act with an entrepreneurial mindset to grow brand business and volume
- Manage the planning and execution needs of each retail store, overseeing visual weeks, seasonal & visual week events and product launches (note: AEs to spend 80% of time in field)
- Lead strategic planning, negotiating and sales execution of all in store events for territory and top brand beauty and fragrance doors
What We Are Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree and minimum of 3 years experience in cosmetic or retail management
- Self-motivated, results oriented, and a creative thinker
- Strong communication, presentation and organizational skills
- Analytical in approach to identifying opportunities
- Proven experience in motivating and training sales staff
- Proficient computer skills necessary – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, TEAMS)
Judgment and Decision Making
Supervision for the Account Executive position is intermittent. AE will maintain regular communication with the Regional Sales Director through e-mail and phone as needed.
Essential Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
Financial Scope
-Annual Budget Responsibility: personal T&E budget, freelance budget, training budgets, ISD budgets.
-Annual Revenue Responsibility: this will depend based on the volume of the territory
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. In-store seasonal planning and execution - 15%
Coordinate seasonal events for national accounts. Plan and negotiate product launches with store manager, department manager and account management. (District Merchants, Regional Merchandise Managers, Visual Managers, Regional Cosmetic Managers, Directors of Stores) to ensure maximum visual effect and sales performance. Plan, communicate and execute all in-store events.
2. Business Analysis - 10%
Responsible for daily, monthly and seasonal tracking of total retail performance within territory. Must maintain knowledge of the trends of individual business segments and all of the key business drivers within each segment. Monitor competitive activity and competitive retail performance within fragrance/beauty department. Ensure that market share objectives are being met.
3. Meetings and Presentations - 5%
Prepare and carry out seasonal retailer presentations. Participate in and/or organize regional retailer strategy meetings.
4. Maintain counter quality and merchandising - 5%
Monitor cleanliness of the counter stock and display units and hold beauty advisors accountable for counter quality requirements. Execute and maintain all merchandising standards.
5. Maintain budget - 5%
Maintain seasonal freelance budget, including sourcing freelancers, booking for appropriate events and executing their payments within the seasonal budget. Process T&E in a timely manner and within 5% the guidelines.
6. Communication- 5%
Weekly communication with Regional Sales Director regarding business performance & stock conditions. Communication with store management regarding event performance, retail opportunities and training.
7. Monitoring of Stock -5%
Work with Planning team to identify opportunities with stock levels. Communicate stock needs/concerns and track incoming shipments to ensure timely arrival in store.
8. Training and Development -30%
Coach Beauty Advisors and Retail Sales Specialists to increase sales by making sure s/he is fulfilling all the responsibilities. Teach Beauty Advisors & Retail Sales Specialists how to maximize productivity by developing selling skills, customer service skills, booking events and product demonstration.
9. Sourcing/hiring/talent assessment-15%
Consistently source and interview candidates for Beauty Advisor & Retail Sales Specialist positions. Assure we have the best talent based on brand goal achievement, productivity (SPH, IPT, and AUS), selling skills, client registry level and quality, customer service, etc. Maintain accurate records on Demo system to reflect correct staffing in stores with Demo arrangements.
10. Social Media -5%
AE to build their own social profile through organic content and reposting of corporate content a minimum of 3x a week.
Development of RSS/Specialist on their social channels, providing assets, #tags & calendar to post
