Inventory Management Support
Job Description:
L3Harris Space & Sensors Division is seeking an entry-level Inventory Management Support individual contributor. The successful candidate is responsible for performing the physical or administrative tasks supporting the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies and equipment, rejecting unsatisfactory items when necessary. Within parameters, this individual determines routing and arrangements for shipments, considering such factors as nature of items being shipped, method of handling, size, urgency, and cost. The successful candidate receives incoming materials, unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices. This individual stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.
Essential Functions:
- Prepares and maintains records of products shipped and tracks shipments
- Receives incoming materials, verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identification
- Packaging and unpackaging of materials and accessories, and marking items with proper numbers and/or labels
- Maintains records of received goods, processes freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents
- May operate material handling equipment such as X-ray counter, sealers, scales, etc. upon receipt of internal certification
- Performs work in adherence to safe material handling practices and maintain compliance with L3Harris specific Environment Health and Safety policies/procedures regarding material handling
- This position uses small hand tools (manual and automated) and color-coded information
Qualifications:
- Strong computer skills
- Understanding of inventory and transactional accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with 0-3 years of prior related experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience in stores, shipping, or receiving
- Ability to work overtime, weekend, holiday and/or second shift work as needed
- Ideal candidate would be a motivated and independent self-starter
- Knowledge of packaging procedures, materials, and inventory used in packaging and/or handling of finished goods
Physical Requirements:
- Stands, walks and bends for extended periods of time
- Handle items (up to 50lbs) utilizing proper lifting techniques and material handling aids
