L3Harris is searching for talented Industrial Engineers to support the production of next generation, high-speed avionics and space hardware. This senior industrial engineering position will have the opportunity to directly help establish the department's processes, best practices, structure, and strategic vision. This individual will serve as a mentor to the rest of the team and will have constant participation in executive-level presentations and projects. We are looking for someone that enjoys a fast-paced environment, working with and learning from others, and is comfortable working with little oversight. This position will have the opportunity and responsibility to foster strong relationships with different programs and functions to expand and strengthen our industrial engineering team.
Essential Functions:
- Lay the technical groundwork and processes for the industrial engineering team supporting the Space and Airborne Systems segment
- Design and implement processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations throughout the segment
- Participate in production readiness assessments
- Coach and develop other members of the team
- Develop Analytical models to aid in decision making (i.e. forecasting, feasibility, optimization)
- Work alongside Program Management, Project Engineering, Operations Leadership, Quality, Test, and Reliability Engineering functions to achieve common program and operational goals
- Prioritize and execute in an environment of many concurrent tasks/responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
- Experience with application of Industrial Engineering principals to improve Manufacturing Systems including facilities planning, capacity planning, mistake proofing, 3P, 5S 1, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Root Cause Analysis, Cause & Effect, Gemba, Pull-Flow, etc
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Strong analytical and problems solving skills
- Industrial Engineering degree
- Experience with CCA manufacturing process, cables, and electro-mechanical assemblies
- Ability to obtain Secret Clearance preferred but not required.
- Familiarity in Control or similar MRP based system and Aegis based Manufacturing Execution System
- Knows Aegis based Manufacturing Execution System (i.e. Fusion V7, FactoryLogix)
- Knowledge in AutoCAD and/or Pro-E, technical writing, MS Project and/or MS SharePoint.
- Working knowledge and general understanding of IPC -6012, IPC-6013, IPC-A-600 and IPC 6018
- Background in manufacturing of electronics for Military and Government Systems
