L3Harris' Communication Systems segment is currently seeking a Test Engineering Lead to join our team. This position will be based at our Jefferson Road facility. This position is for our weekend day shift, 6AM-630 PM and is eligible for 25% shift differential pay.
Position Overview:
This person will contribute to the company's success by leading a team of test engineers and technicians in the support and maintenance of the test infrastructure for Weekend Day shift Jefferson Road manufacturing operations. They will be responsible for ensuring thorough communication, comprehensive response planning, and robust crisis management for Test Engineering support on the weekend shift. This role will report directly to the Test Engineering Sr Manager and is responsible for successfully providing a path to resolution for all issues on the weekend in a timely manner while openly communicating and interfacing with the operations management teams.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manage and mentor the focus factory test engineers and technicians as well as daily prioritization of all support efforts.
- Provide routine status reports to senior leadership on critical issues requiring escalation.
- Support focus factory tier 1 and tier 2 metrics such as Cost of Poor Quality, Product Yield, Mistake Proofing Ratio, and Quality Assurance escapes.
- Prepare and report out to senior leadership on the teams weekly accomplishments and opportunities.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and conceptualize innovative solutions to achieve operational targets with direct impact on the departmental results..
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining comprehensive methods of testing and troubleshooting equipment and systems
- Performs engineering RF/analog/digital design and measurement tasks as well as operational tests and fault isolation on radio systems
- Develop, debug, optimize test software using National Instruments LabVIEW, TestStand, and Visual Basic
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Experienced in multi-tasking and crisis management in a fast paced environment.
- Experience in digital, analog, and RF circuitry design/troubleshoot
- Understanding of software defined radio products and communications
- Working knowledge of the fundamentals of In-Circuit Test (ICT), functional board level testing, unit and system level testing, coverage analysis
