What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shift Supervisor position at La Calenda?
Named after an Oaxacan parade, La Calenda combines vibrant Mexican cuisine with a family-friendly environment. Drawing on seasonal ingredients and traditional cooking methods, the restaurant casts a glance across a range of regional Mexican cuisines.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and Support the Service Team: Guide and direct the service staff during shifts, ensuring they deliver excellent service.
- Maintain Our Standards: Oversee the dining room during prep and service periods, complete assigned tasks, and ensure operations run smoothly.
- Resolve Customer Concerns: Address guest issues promptly and inform the Dining Room Manager and General Manager when necessary.
- Train and Develop Staff: Assist with training new team members, reinforce positive performance, and offer supportive coaching.
- Stay Calm Under Pressure: Maintain calm during busy or unusual times to ensure the property operates to our standards and guest service.
Qualifications:
- 2 to 3 years of service experience.
- Computer knowledge.
- State Health Certificate.
- Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
- Desire and enthusiasm for food, beverage, and hospitality.
