La Josie, a family-owned Bib Gourmand Mexican restaurant on Randolph Row, has been serving family recipes and supporting the best agave distillers from all regions of Mexico since May of 2017.
La Josie has become a beloved destination to eat, drink and socialize in the West Loop.
We are offering the opportunity to add the right AGM to our FOH team. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, hands-on professional with previous managing / leadership experience.
The ideal candidate should be able to comfortably assist overseeing all restaurant operations and should actively strive to improve the details.
The perfect candidate must be able to work well independently, work well with our team, and above all, be passionate about facilitating unforgettable guest experiences.
Requirements
- Motivated, innovative, creative
- Growth, Team-oriented
- Associates degree in hospitality management or equivalent experience
- Bilingual, Spanish.
- Familiarity with Mexican cuisine and agave, and / or a willingness to learn more
- Experience managing in a restaurant including office / admin
- POS Toast experience preferred
Essential duties & Responsibilities
- Maintains a cheerful, courteous disposition and a clean, professional image
- Responsibilities for all FOH operations
- Responds to guest inquiries and provides assistance
- Helps with duties of other employees when necessary due to unexpected absence, extra volume, or labor cuts
- Oversees organization and efficiency in both office duties and service in the dining room
- Enhances and strengthens guest relationships, both established and new
- Promotes cooperative efforts, team spirit, and morale among employees
- Has a strong understanding of company background, core values, and philosophy
A "lead by example" approach to maintaining points of service standards
Minimum Qualifications
- 2 yrs experience as a restaurant manager
- Certifications all up to date
- Ability to coordinate multiple activities with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Physical Demands and Work Enviorment
- Ability to be flexible and open-minded about job demands
- Ability to move or handle equipment throughout the restaurant (generally between 0-50 lbs.)
- Ability to work varied schedules, as business dictates
- Ability to stand for 8-10 hours a day
