The Point of Care Project (POC) Specialist assists in the management and coordination of the point of care testing program for the Laboratory Service in concert with the Laboratory Directors, Supervisors and Manager. The Point of Care Project Specialist has general knowledge of all laboratory areas, expertise and leadership in laboratory medicine. This position requires the exercise of independent judgement and responsibility. Other critical aspects include project management, new instrument or test evaluation and validation, training and competency across the hospital and clinic sites and maintenance of a thorough quality control program as well as maintenance of related documents. The Point of Care Project Specialist assists with the development and updating of the laboratory service-wide goals, objectives and preparation and readiness of regulatory review.
