$11.00 per hour (and up) depending on experience with expected wage increases (dependent upon annual performance reviews)
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Responsible for managing the flow of clients between locations. Oversees all aspects of transportation planning, including scheduling, routing, and vehicle maintenance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Interacts with clients to schedule and coordinate their transportation needs.
- Supervises and maintains the upkeep of the vehicles (i.e., oil changes, tire rotation, fuel, tune ups, alignments, general maintenance, etc.) by following proper procedures by obtaining approval from
Program Manager and Executive Director.
- Reports repairs to the Program Manager and Executive Director.
- Keeps a maintenance log on all vehicles and submits it to the Program Manager on a monthly basis.
- Ensure that all drivers’ records are always up to date and submit them to the Program Manager.
- Ensure driver’s trainings are current and in accordance with the DOTD (i.e., STTARS) program.
- Attend required trainings that pertain to transporting clients of Lafayette Council on Aging, Inc. (i.e.,
CPR/First Aid, Passenger Assistance and Safety, Ethics, etc.).
- Provides information about traffic/weather conditions to drivers to ensure that the best routes are chosen for each trip.
- Contributes to team effort by filling in and driving if needed to ensure that clients are able to keep their appointments.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position is the supervisor for all drivers in this department.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, security cameras, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and
Friday, 8:00a.m. to 2p.m. Schedule may be adjusted according to agency needs.
TRAVEL
Occasional travel to educational trainings may be required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIREMENTS
1. High school diploma
2. Two years of related work experience
3. Knowledge of logistics and transportation principles
4. Detail-oriented and able to prioritize
5. Must possess clearance of a criminal background check
6. Must possess clearance of a drug screen
7. Good driving record, current Class D driver’s license, and valid auto insurance (minimum limits as required by law)
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Associate’s Degree in Transportation or Logistics
2. Four years of work-related experience
3. Two years of non-profit experience

EVALUATION:
- Employment is conditional until completion of a three-month (90 day) orientation period.
- Evaluation is performed by the Executive Director and will be initially conducted prior to or at the completion of this period, and annually thereafter.
- Successful completion of the orientation period will result in eligibility for any benefits offered for this position, and as described in the Lafayette Council on Aging, Inc. Employee Handbook.
- Employment will continue as long as both funding is available, and the job performance is satisfactory.
The immediate supervisor for this position is the Program Manager.
