What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Sales Manager position at Laguna Beach Company?
SUMMARY: Sales managers are responsible for managing sales and administrative duties, sells group events and creates and maintains relationship with clients.
Sales managers have flexible schedules and are paid monthly bonuses based off sales goals in addition to their hourly rate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following.
· Generates sales including: weddings, corporate parties, business meetings/recreational events, fund raisers, team-building events, etc.
· Confers with event coordinators to ensure coordination of clients events and requests.
· Manage prospects who contact the venues or sales office via phone or the internet. Assists prospects with event inquiries; creates proposals with relevant event details.
· Clearly communicate to prospective clients the features and benefits of Laguna Beach Company properties and event packages.
· Respond to all event inquiries and convert inquiries into booked events and consistently meet or exceed individual monthly sales goal.
· Understand the unique needs of different types of events, such as corporate events, birthday parties and other social events business.
· Prospects and make sales calls to broaden client base and penetrate new markets.
· Must have the flexibility to work weekends to coordinate tours to work around clients schedules.
QUALIFICA*TIONS: *Event Sales Managers possess a highly developed sense of customer service and interpersonal skills including high degree of creativity and organization with strong selling and negotiating skills. Assertive, self-motivated, innovative personality with high level of initiative to solicit new business and retain existing client base are vital.
Event Sales Managers must be strong team players and people developers, possess strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages. Often must search and find win/win solutions for customers and the company.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Some experience in event sales is required. Proficiency with MS Office Suite preferred.
