Lake Superior Community Health Center is currently seeking a Dental/Chiropractic Receptionist for our Carlton location.

Job Summary:

Lake Superior Community Health Center is seeking a friendly, energetic individual to attend to patient needs and manage administrative tasks in a clinical setting. Candidates should be committed to excellent performance regarding patient contact, possess a drive to help others improve their quality of life and be productive member of a growing team. Experience is not necessary, as we are willing to train a candidate with a positive outlook and willingness to learn.

Job Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Experience in healthcare business operations, preferred
  • Experience with insurance verification, billing and/or processing payor information, preferred

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Computer and Microsoft Office software knowledge
  • High level of customer services skills, tact and diplomacy
  • Knowledge of healthcare and dental practices
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Demonstrates ability to consistently achieve a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions

Functions and Responsibilities:

1.0 Obtain all pertinent clients intake information

1.1 Greet clients of all ages and obtains all pertinent information to ensure accurate capture of data for billing and reporting purposes

1.2 Explains all forms requiring completion to the client or their representative

1.3 Schedules client appointments according to department procedure

2.0 Verifies all third-party payer information.

2.1 Identifies client’s insurance company or managed care plan and benefit eligibility

2.2 Provides insurance company with required information

2.3 Ensures clients are eligible for services prior to treatment

3.0 Responds to incoming customer calls

3.1 Answers questions and/or refers calls to appropriate staff

3.2 Takes messages, when appropriate

3.3 Schedules appointments according to procedure

4.0 Clerical responsibilities

4.1 Reminds clients of appointment by calling the day before the appointment

4.2 Perform all registration document scanning

4.3 Ensures demographic information is up-to-date and accurate

4.4 Verify insurance prior to treatment and update chart

4.5 Faxes prescriptions to pharmacy as directed by provider

4.6 Performs Release of Information duties

5.0 Client billing and collections

5.1 Collect client co-payment

5.2 Post charges into billing system after encounter

5.3 Post payments into accounts receivable upon receipt

6.0 Participates with the clinical teams to make sure patients are seen efficiently
