Job Description:
What we’re looking for in you
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Some positions, as ideintified by the Laboratory Manager, may be required to drive to various sites to perform phlebotomy. If required, must have a valid driver's license and meet all criteria required under Lakeview's Automobile Liability Guidelines.
Preferred:
- Phlebotomy Certification
- Completion of health care program (e.g. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Paramedic, Phlebotomy)
Required:
- Knowledge and skills sufficient to provide technical instructions and communicate and advise other departments on clinical laboratory procedures
Preferred:
- Medical Terminology knowledge
- Previous phlebotomy experience
- Typing or keyboarding skills
The purpose of the Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant role
As a Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant you will be responsible for performing phlebotomies and receiving/processing specimens to ensure high quality in the preanalytical phase of laboratory testing.
