Position Purpose:
Under the direction and supervision of the Director of the Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF), provides behavioral assessment/screening, intervention, and consultation services to residents, families, and staff of Lakeview Specialty Hospital and Rehab consistent with the mission of the facility. Areas of emphasis include development and implementation of behavior intervention plans, fostering adaptive skill development for residents, coordinating behavioral skills group programming, enhancing behavior management skills of staff, collecting, analyzing, and presenting behavioral data, providing individual therapy services for selected residents, decreasing behavioral barriers to maximize progress in rehabilitation, facilitating the least restrictive placement, and clinical documentation. The position also involves participation in overall program development, coaching of staff, and in-service training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs behavioral assessment /screening services with adults on the CBRF Units.
- Designs and implements Behavior Intervention Programs for residents of the CBRF unit and consults on an as needed basis to other programs.
- Provides individual and group behavioral services to specific residents as dictated by resident needs and team decisions with primary involvement with CBRF residents.
- Participates in interdisciplinary functions and program development with primary commitment on the CBRF unit and as a consultant when needed to other programs.
- Adheres to facility policies and procedures including performing other duties as assigned.
- Conducts job duties in a manner to ensure safety of residents, families and staff.
Qualifications
Skill, Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of behavior analysis, clinical psychology, and rehabilitation services. Strong verbal and written skills, strong organizational and leadership skills, ability to speak confidently in public, ability to maintain professional records and patient confidentiality and ability to maintain professional relationships with staff and patients. Demonstrates good problem solving, decision-making, and judgment skills in high stress situations. Emotional stability necessary to perform essential functions. Ability to obtain and maintain Mandt certification.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field. Master's preferred.
Licensure: Must be in the process of receiving training to be eligible to become a BACB (Behavior Analyst Certification Board) certification.
Experience: Supervised experience with neurobehavioral disorders to help residents acquire new skills and reduce maladaptive behaviors using applied behavioral analysis.
