Payroll Clerk
A well-known establishment in Pensacola is looking for a full-time Payroll Clerk to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to offer admin assistance, phone etiquette, office equipment handling, communication and clerical skills to support office operations and ensure efficient office management in a supportive and positive work environment.
What you’ll be doing to make an impact:
- Full cycle Payroll work
- Completing various functions like setting up all fields for new employees, updating job classes and pay rates as needed, terminating employees, tracking vacation, responding to and setting up garnishments from states, counties, cities, or other court ordered sources and setting up, deducting and reconciling benefits
- Processing employees in E-Verify
- Processing hours worked
- Reading union agreements to determine wage rates and benefits to be paid. Reporting dues, pension plans, health, life, and dental insurances separately to the union
- Filing state (SUI & state withholding) and federal (941) returns and paying related taxes in a timely manner
- Generating and reconciling W-2s for federal and state purposes
- Creating and maintaining 1095’s for ACA reporting
- Assisting with benefits administration as needed including data entry, claims forms, enrollments
- Creating reports through payroll software that can be exported to Excel and adapted for the intended need. These reports may include Affirmative Action, EEO, and Veterans annual reporting, workers’ compensation annual projections and audit packages, or payroll and benefit expense reports
What you’ll bring to the table:
- A Bachelor’s Degree, Accounting or Finance preferred
- ADP experience, preferred
- Payroll experience is needed 3-5 years
- Highly skilled in Excel
- A team Player and able to interact easily with co-workers
- Organized and have an eye for detail
- Independent and self-motivated
- A great listener with a positive, can-do attitude
- A multi-tasker in a fast-paced environment
- A strong communicator with a polite and courteous disposition
- Willing to work overtime as needed
