Your role is to enable our customers to get the parts they need as quickly as possible and to have a great experience doing so.
You offer expertise in identifying the part number needed for the customer’s equipment model and then finding that part.
You don’t, however, diagnose equipment malfunctions for the customer (you refer them to our service department for expert diagnosis).
This role is an advanced position that requires excellent communication skills as well as technical skill to find or order the correct parts.
You are supported by a Parts Specialist, whose expertise you can rely on to help with difficult situations. Your ability to listen and help customers in a friendly and efficient way is key to your success.
Your efficiency helps customers keep moving and reduces the wait time for other customers. You are also able to direct customers to other parts of the store for their non-part needs.
Customers will specifically remember you and how well you helped them. Responsibilities Greet and listen to Parts counter customers Identify and lookup needed parts using vendor diagrams and websites Pull needed parts from stock or order parts for future pickup Check out customers at the cash register Contact customers for parts pickup Put away received parts , in-between serving customers Stock, organize and clean Parts counter Complete inventory cycle counts , in-between serving customers Pull paperwork and parts for store transfers Check in service orders (whenever service shop is closed) Assist with special requests from the Parts Specialist or management Required Qualifications Experience working with equipment parts Basic knowledge of engines and parts Ability to have positive and friendly interactions with customers Ability to be organized and calm in a fast-paced environment Ability to have clear communication with colleagues Desired Qualifications Experience in a repair shop or parts business Physical Requirements Ability to lift and handle up to 70 lbs. .
