What are the responsibilities and job description for the Portfolio Manager position at Langley Federal Credit Union?
The Portfolio Manager provides analytical and operational support to the commercial lending team by managing and servicing a portfolio of commercial loans. The Portfolio Manger partners with loan officers, analysts and loan closers to ensure each loan is in compliance by performing annual reviews, tracking covenants and insurance, and collaborating with borrowers, due diligence vendors and legal partners. This Manager performs financial spreading on small loans and manages construction draw administration. The Portfolio Manager is responsible for daily and monthly reporting on key portfolio metrics.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees the routine maintenance and management of the subject portfolio, including the tracking and documentation of loan maturities, modifications, financial ticklers, covenants and annual reviews. Collects necessary customer financial information on an ongoing basis and monitors insurance on existing loans.
- Performs financial spreading of small loans in collaboration with Credit Analysts.
- Manages construction draw requests by ordering title updates, inspections, collection of due diligence items and preparation of draw request memorandums.
- Audits existing escrow accounts for compliance; funds new escrow account draw requests.
- Analyzes and inputs portfolio data for various daily and monthly report generation.
- Executes the loan billing process by preparing statements and posting payments to portfolio.
- Manages annual third-party loan review and may collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure file compliance and completion.
- Coordinates with external loan participants to convey loan files, documents and other information as needed.
- Prepares data for business development calls with customers and loan officers.
- Addresses customer inquiries regarding payment amounts on accounts/loans, financial statement questions and other credit information.
- Bolsters the bank’s strong relationship-lending culture through on-going customer contact, quality customer service, and superior product knowledge.
- Adheres to all applicable laws and regulations governing bank operations, including compliance with Langley’s BSA/AML Policy and Procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or a related business field required. An equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable.
- Minimum of three years of experience working with commercial and SBA loan transactions Preferred.
