Job Title: Controls Account Manager

Job Summary:  EMCOR Services Combustioneer, located in Lanham, MD has an immediate need for a Controls Account (Sales) Manager professional  to sell Building Automation Services, specialty knowledge and focused on Building Automation Sales. This position constitutes understanding and selling all aspects of the Mechanical Service company, including the Controls Technology, PM Service Contracts, mechanical repair, replacement, and generator support. As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for developing sales, profits, and relationships with commercial & government clients. The candidate will prospect for new clients focusing his/her efforts on selling clients the complete EMCOR Service Combustioneer portfolio of operations, maintenance, and repair, replacement, and service package, as well as providing contract portfolio support maintenance of existing customers. Included in selling the wide range of Mechanical Service, his/her efforts will also be to sell clients on the complete EMCOR automation solution for new or retrofit applications and offer DDC system maintenance agreements. This position will be working with the operations team to fully realize the sales potential within each existing commercial account. This individual may also look to develop Building Automation Sales opportunities in the new construction market by establishing relationship with consulting engineers, mechanical and general contractors. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

This position will be responsible for developing relationships with potential customers, providing proposals and sales presentations for performing Building Automation Services, prospecting for new accounts, providing clients with product services/information and gaining customer approval for contracted/service or project and repair work.  Some proposals will come from provided customer leads This position also has responsibility for maintaining client pricing and payments, Accounts Receivable management, client correspondence, Profit/Loss reports, quality assurance (QA) support, and industry and trade show participation.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Developing Building Automation sales presentations, prospecting for new accounts and providing clients with product services/information.
  • Maintaining client pricing and payments, A/R management, client correspondence, P/L reports, quality assurance (QA) support and industry trade show participation.
  • Establishing relationships with prospective clients.
  • Seeking out and researching prospective projects through various methods (e.g., phone calls, visits, attending conferences, utilizing the Internet, leveraging existing relationships). Contacting prospective client Chief Engineer, Account Managers and Property Managers to introduce yourself and develop future relationships.
  • Working with the Controls Division Manager and Business Development Teams in constantly reviewing and improving commercial account programs to meet targeted objectives. Maintain reporting of sales activity status via current CRM software.
  • Managing through analysis and solution-based programs to maximize sales growth, volume, and profitability of account clients.
  • Preparing and delivering client presentations.
  • Developing, writing, and reviewing client proposal documents including financial and technical sections, using EMCOR Services Combustioneer standard template and estimating programs.
  • Developing sales at defined margin levels to attain market share.

Qualifications:

  • 1 year experience in HVAC commercial services, support, and knowledge of Direct Digital Controls of HVAC systems.
  • 1-2 year experience in selling controls related systems (KMC Controls, Honeywell, Niagara, JCI)
  • Relevant technical experience, preferably in HVAC, Building Automation, and application engineering environment.
  • Strong customer presentation skills and a demonstrated sales aptitude.
  • Financial acumen, inclusive of cost modeling for sales proposals.
  • Experience in developing technical and cost proposals.
  • Independent decision making is required, Self-motivated
  • Computer skills using MS Office required. Strong Excel skills are required.
  • High School or better and knowledge and certifications in the Mechanical Services trade a plus.
  • Niagara N4/AX Certified is preferred
