Job Title:                         Islands Clean-Up Supervisor

Reports To:                     Director of Maintenance

SUMMARY Manage the day-to-day operation of the general clean-up of the Resort both inside buildings and pavilions and outside on the grounds.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Supervise staff in ensuring that the resort is kept clean
  • Assist when needed cleaning of offices throughout the resort
  • Assist when needed cleaning of restrooms, stocking of supplies
  • Assist when needed cleaning walks, grounds, picnic pavilion and the roadways on the islands
  • General pest removal, which includes spraying of bees, wasps, and ants.
  • Create implement and maintain a daily, weekly and monthly check list and log of tasks and special projects
  • Will be responsible for hiring, coaching, disciplining and making recommendations regarding future employment status
  • Making and maintaining fair schedules
  • Responsible for ordering supplies and keeping accurate pars/inventories
  • Financially responsible for area – will work closely with Director on budget

  

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly manages and supervises associates in the Islands clean up department. Fulfills supervisory responsibilities following the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be at least 18 years of age with valid driver’s license and satisfactory MVR for 3 years.

Education and/or Experience:

Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Skills:

  • Ability to comprehend and communicate either verbal in English and non-verbal methods.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English and respond in writing
  • Ability to read and interpret general business document or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and associates.

 

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and decimals.

 

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory Motor Vehicle report for 3 years.

The employee must regularly lift and /25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 or move up to 50 pounds. Specifically vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
