Cashier

Lapwai Valley Foods is looking for a Cashier to manage all transactions with customers with precision and enthusiasm. cashier responsibilities include receiving payments and issuing receipts, retail sales, merchandise sales, and other sales activities. The ideal candidate is able to express themselves in a friendly and enthusiastic way while ensuring all transactions are completed in a timely manner. We have a full service Deli where we make sandwiches, salads, chicken etc.

Requirements:

• You have a high school diploma or equivalent experience
• You are proficient in using the following systems: Point of Sale systems, Microsoft Office, and the Internet to manage inventory, receive and handle customer payments, enter data into computer systems, scan receipts, calculate and issue receipts, manage inventory changes, and more
• You are able to maintain a clean work environment while providing a friendly greeting to customers

Responsibilities:

• Manage transactions with customers. including collecting payments from customers. making sales, merchandising sales areas, accepting payments from customers. maintaining inventory of merchandise. maintaining records of transactions. maintaining the cleanliness of the store by sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming. cleaning windows and mirrors. wiping down counters
• Give customers directions on where to go when they are browsing in the store
• Help customers find products they are looking for
• Help customers find products that match their needs
• Take payment from either cash or credit cards or checks
• Resolve customer complaints in a timely manner
• Issue receipts to customers for product returns and refunds
• Keep the checkout area clean and organized by keeping shelves clean, removing trash from the floor areas, putting away packages and checking out customers
• Helping other team members with other tasks as needed

Pay: $11.00 - $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
