What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Process Specialist position at Larimer County?
- Provides information to the public, outside agencies, and office staff concerning Sheriff's Office operations, procedures, and regulations regarding civil process; assists both the public and employees in person or on the phone.
- Receives civil papers for service via the mail or from front counter staff. Includes obtaining complete information on person to be served, person to be billed, and collection of fees for service.
- Processes and maintains associated data and records for court-ordered levy, seizure, child custody, and restraining civil orders.
- Completes data entry of all papers for service. Includes determining correct coding and billing information.
- Records court orders in compliance with appropriate regulations.
- Generates billing for served papers.
- Researches and processes refunds.
- Notarizes affidavits.
- Maintains accuracy, confidentiality, and security of all records and work area.
- Provides complete Returns of Service for the courts.
- Completes and facilitates the Sheriff Sales, including the clerical processing and management and the physical sale of the property.
- Provides eviction information to the assigned Certified Deputy executing the eviction orders.
- Conducts initial research on individuals prior to providing information to Civil Process Server.
- When a local declaration of emergency or disaster is declared by the Board of Commissioners, all Larimer County employees may be required to work as a Disaster Service Worker.
- Performs other duties as appropriate or necessary for performance of the job.

- Two (2) years of related experience required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- NCIC/CCIC certification within three (3) months of hire required.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid driver's license required.
