Please note: This position is not paid hourly. This is a grant funded position that pays a lump sum of $1500 after successful facilitation of each class (our 2023 grant is able to fund a total of two class facilitations this year). The hourly rate of $25/hour shown in this job post is an estimation based on the typical number of hours needed to prepare for, facilitate, and wrap up each class.Specifically, this position:
- Attends and successfully completes the three-day FLTI Facilitator Training.
- Co-facilitates the 20-week FLTI curriculum and/or a shorter civic learning lab, and participates in related graduations, as assigned and agreed to via Memorandum of Understanding.
- Encourages the success of each participant on an individual basis.
- Promotes FLTI as a civic initiative and community builder.
- Works with the site coordinator, Civic Design Team members, Alumni, and others to ensure the success of FLTI in the local community and in Colorado.
- Follows the FLTI local county/community timeline for FLTI implementation.
- Understands and promotes FLTI principles and practices.
- Participates in weekly support phone calls with the site coordinator during assigned facilitation period.
- Helps the site coordinator, as needed, with site evaluation, civic project support, curricula feedback, local graduation program, etc.
- Creates positive change in the local community by assisting participant engagement.
- Prepares facilitation according to assigned curriculum.
- Accurately completes all paperwork required, problem solves with the Coordinator on any issues that arise and implement agreed to solutions.
- When assigned provides facilitation for community input conversations.
- Attends pre/post session meetings with the site coordinator.
We are looking for a candidate that will:
- Be proficient in general office practices and procedures and routine software and business applications including, but not limited to: word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and databases.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Read and comprehend department and County rules, regulations, policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other County employees, representatives of other agencies and organizations, and members of the community.
- Have regular, predictable attendance.
- Be familiar with the history and the dynamics of the local community.
- Create an open, honest atmosphere that feels safe for family leaders.
- Be coherent, engaging, and effectual in delivering the curriculum.
- Have familiarity with local and state resources and assist family leaders in connecting with them.
- Sense and address discomfort and confusion as it arises by frequently referencing the FLTI ground rules and key phrases.
- Demonstrate facilitation methods that reflect how knowing each other and trusting each other in the group leads to powerful learning.
- Implement strategies to maximize participation and ensure that all voices are heard.
All candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.
- Successful completion of the three-day FLTI Facilitator training required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Alumnus of the Family Leadership Training Institute is preferred.

This position would facilitate classes as needed, and this could include nights, weekends and holidays.
An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
