We have partnered with a construction firm specializing in luxury design. They are seeking a Contract Attorney (Manager) to join their growing legal team and support the business in several functional areas. This position calls for a candidate that has a strong client-facing ability and familiarity with the American Institute of Architects (AIA). This role can sit hybrid in Boston, New York, or Los Angeles.
Responsibilities:
- Generate, negotiate and assist in finalizing contracts between the company and its clients. Develops strategy for the resolution of issues
- Familiarity with industry-standard contract terms & forms
- Assist CLO with all Legal issues that pertain to operations of the business as needed.
- Manages affirmative and defensive lien issues as necessary to protect the company's interests
Qualifications:
- A background in AIA Standards & Forms
- JD (preferred, but not required) and 4 years of relevant legal experience - preference towards construction industry law experience
- Good standing with the Massachusetts or California Bar Association.
- Familiarity with lien statutes and practices in various jurisdictions.
