Vitamins & Cosmetics Manager

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers in Lassens Vitamin and Cosmetics Department. This includes ordering and receiving products, stocking, facing, inventory maintenance, providing customer service, processing special orders, and maintaining the overall appearance and integrity of the Vitamins and Cosmetics Departments.

1. Assigns duties to workers and schedules break periods in accordance with State Labor Laws and Lassens policies. Assists in scheduling work hours, and vacations.
2. Trains workers in store policies, department procedures, and job duties.
3. Orders merchandise, supplies, and equipment.
4. Records delivery of merchandise, compares record with merchandise ordered, and reports discrepancies to control costs and maintain correct inventory levels.
5. Inspects merchandise on the sales floor to ensure it is correctly priced and displayed.
6. Works with Lassens Regional Supplement Buyer and Store Manager to determine additions to or deletions of inventory, based in part by information obtained through careful and frequent evaluation of Lassens Chain-wide Database Sales Reports, and current market trends.
7. Prepares sales and inventory reports.
8. Listens to customer complaints, examines returned merchandise, and resolves problems to restore and promote good public relations.
9. Strictly maintains a working “Special Order Book” in accordance with Lassens Special Order Policy.
10. Assists team in research and acquisition of any item/items requested by customers in a timely manner.
11. Assists sales workers in completing difficult sales.
12. Sells merchandise.
13. Plans, follows through with, and maintains departments merchandise and promotional displays.
14. Consistently displays the ability to properly merchandise goods in the department.
15. Displays an extensive understanding and knowledge of natural foods supplements, human anatomy, and makes suggestions to consumers based on this knowledge.
16. Strictly adheres to guidelines regarding the sale of supplements. Never “Prescribes” , makes claims in regards to the effectiveness, or purpose for which a supplement might be taken.
17. Maintains a minimum Gross Margin of 50% for Vitamins and 44% for Cosmetics.
18. Follows and enforces “Lassens Stocking & Facing Policy and Procedures”.
19. Follows and enforces “Lassens Special Order Policy & Procedures”.
20. Hangs correct shelf labels and signs in front of correct products using UPC# and date range as exclusive criteria.
21. Maximizes Gross Margin potential through effective promotional buying. Orders appropriate amounts of stock for items that are currently being sold to us at larger discounts than normal. Uses the “Handheld” while ordering product to base the purchase on past sales histories, effectively eliminating the chance to “Over-Buy”.
22. Attends off-site workshops, trainings, Expo's, and Events per Store Managers instructions.
23. Assists and contributes to Team Building and positive morale.
