What are the responsibilities and job description for the Canine Behavior and Enrichment Manager position at Last Chance Ranch?
Candidates should have previous experience with training and behavioral modification for dogs. Training certifications preferred, but not required. Experience with Fear Free Shelter protocols is a plus.
Job tasks will include:
- Conducting Behavioral Assessments for incoming dogs using SAFER ™ or similar method and writing bios for available dogs.
- Implementation of behavioral modification programs for dogs as needed
- Assist with dog adoption appointments
- Coordinate current kennel volunteers and kennel staff to ensure shift coverage and inform about protocol changes.
- Coordinate training days for volunteers
- Create and maintain a program for staff and volunteers to provide training and enrichment to current dogs.
- Field post adoption problems and provide resources to adopters
- Handle the schedule and registration of individuals attending dog training classes at LCR (with outside trainers).
Additional pay is available through commission based dog training classes.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
