We have an exciting new opening for a Strategic Program Manager at LasX Industries.
The Strategic Program Manager is directly responsible for managing the execution of both strategic development efforts and key-account-based ‘Engineered to Order’ equipment projects. He/she will ensure a clear scope of work is established, short- and long-term project plans are developed, and all program goals are met. This position also manages resources (internal and external), initial builds, and maintains schedule and budget throughout the program life cycle, which includes building a scalable production plan that will meet demand timelines and capacity requirements. In short, successfully deliver solutions that meet cost, time, and performance expectations.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage strategic development programs from start to finish
- Work with Sales Account Manager and customer to develop upfront program requirements through written Statements of Work, clarifying customer expectations, performance criteria and both short- and long-term program goals.
- Develop phased development project plans with clear timelines, detailed tasks and resource requirements that meet both short- and long-term program goals.
- Develop a long term, scalable buildout plan that will meet customers’ capacity requirements and establish efficient, cost-effective plans to manufacture and assemble ‘in house.’ Meet customer capacity demands, including procurement planning, assembly, and incremental testing and coordinate with operations team to implement.
- Manage execution of the initial development project(s), to include internal and external resources through detailed task management to ensure timeline is met within budget.
- Manage initial on-site integration and installation efforts at integrator & customer plant sites.
- Work closely with management and key stakeholders to ensure program goals are met.
- Facilitate and organize communication between customers, contractors, and internal teams
Lead and manage 'Engineered to Order' requirement gathering and development efforts:
- Work with Sales Account Manager to qualify customers, evaluate equipment needs, and establish budget and timeline prior to final sales proposal.
- Work directly with Sales and internal technical resources to assess, plan, and manage required development efforts and determine equipment configuration.
- Work with Process Engineering to ensure clear performance criteria are established prior to final sales proposal.
- Present final project internally and hand off to project management when approved.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Business, Engineering, or similar degree
- Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
- Requires five to seven years of overall business experience, and 1 to 3 years of project management and /or operations management experience.
- Experience outsourcing and managing external engineering and automation
- Demonstrated leadership ability to lead multi-disciplinary staff in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and technical writing skills.
- Experience in the specification, design, manufacturing of highly automated equipment.
- Knowledge in using SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
- History of using effective project management skills leading to successful projects.
Physical Requirements:
- Extensive time on the computer, phone or in direct communications.
- Travel to supplier and customer facilities. (25%)
- Working in a manufacturing environment.
- Bending, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs.
