Description

LCCU is looking for a Bilingual Department Administrative Assistant who is willing to learn and grow with the organization. The Administrative Assistant provides support to the Risk Management Department and assists in all areas of BSA/AML compliance as needed ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and rules.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Compliance Program Support

Currency Transaction Reports:

  • Review and file Currency Transactions Reports (CTRs) daily and assist when necessary to meet regulatory deadlines. Research and correct acknowledged CTR errors through e-filing upon occurrence and maintain filed CTRs for record retention.
  • Assist branch personnel with questions relating to CTRs and communicate with branch personnel for information missing on incomplete CTRs. Responsible for ongoing monitoring of member account activity (to identify suspicious activity).

Reports / Alerts / Cases:

  • Assist in completing reviews of structuring reports and/ or alerts generated by the BSA Compliance system and escalate to Compliance Director for further review and investigation.
  • Document & maintain any problem-solving issues that do not require a Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) or update for implementation of new alert.
  • Triage memos of suspicious or unusual activity from branches and other departments to ensure proper handling and escalation. Establish & maintain a record for each incident, including any research notes / documentation obtained. Include contacts made by phone or email and disposition and/or monitoring of the incident.

Monitoring, OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) and Internal Audit:

  • Assist with member High Risk reviews and Internal Audit reporting.
  • Assist the Compliance Director and Internal Auditor with ensuring that LCCU creates and maintains all records required by BSA and related regulations.
  • Monitor member base for potential OFAC and suspects/matches.
  • Assist in the revision and/or design of forms, products, and web site, programs, or promotions to ensure compliance with all State and Federal rules and regulations.
  • Produce and submit to FINCEN the CTRs and SARs required for BSA compliance and monitor member activity for potential money laundering or terrorist financing activities under Anti-Money Laundering program.
  • Develop and ensure implementation of record retention policies and procedures in accordance with regulations and laws.

Virtual Center Support

  • Assist with member services in coordination with the Virtual Center Director.

Requirements

  • High School diploma and one-year related experience preferred.
  • Professional working proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Team player with ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage time with strong organization skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively and proactively.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work efficiently.
