Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Paralegal or Legal Assistant to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys in various legal tasks and provide administrative support in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: time entries, research and filing, client billing, drafting letters, preparing and editing motions and briefs, assisting with discovery, electronic filing, and general matter/case management, processing incoming/outgoing mail, calls and emails, new client intake, managing attorney schedules and deadlines, scheduling meetings, and hearings, preparing files for hearings, proficiency in use of office suite and document management software, drafting a wide range of pleadings, organize and track case files, and other administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a legal assistant or paralegal
- Must be a self-starter and have the ability to follow directions
- Must have the ability to manage time effectively
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work product
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, & Excel a must)
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Duties:
- Assist with legal case management and organization
- Support attorneys in drafting legal documents for various practice areas including personal injury law, estate planning, and family law
- Perform legal research and compile information for cases
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and court personnel as needed
- Manage calendars, appointments, and deadlines for attorneys
- Prepare correspondence and documentation for court filings
- Investigate facts and public records as needed
- Follow up on requests (verifications, appeals, pleadings, discovery requests and other requests) with Courts, agencies, clients and other institutions
- Proactively providing reminders to legal team of upcoming deadlines
The position is full-time, and the salary is commensurate with experience. Working hours are Monday-Thursday 8:00a-5:00p and Friday from 8:00a-2:00p.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
