What are the responsibilities and job description for the Jail Neglect Civil/Constitutional Rights Attorney (Dallas) position at Law Offices of Dean Malone, P.C.?
Our growing Dallas law firm is adding another attorney to our civil rights serious injury and death practice team. We typically represent families of those who die in jails from neglect, abuse, and suicide, or from an encounter with law enforcement officers. The ideal candidate enjoys drafting documents, reviewing and summarizing evidence, and practicing in federal court. He or she should have an aptitude for the written word. We offer a friendly, fast-paced work environment with benefits. Base annual starting salary of $100,000 to $120,000, plus discretionary bonuses, with up to $170,000 or more total yearly potential with bonuses. The position involves drafting discovery objections and responses, motions and responses, letters, and other case-related documents; eventually appearing at hearings and taking and/or defending depositions; and assisting with trial preparation and out-of-town trials. The position also involves critically reviewing and summarizing voluminous evidence (documents, audio recordings, and video recordings).
