We are seeking an experienced Lead Fabricator and Metal Finisher with a minimum of 5 years experience, for small shop that specializes in high-end, high quality architectural elements, stairs, railings and ornamental pieces.
Requirements:
Self starter and ability to work independently , as well as teach others· Ability to read blueprints • Experience with grinding and finishing • Experience working with steel, stainless steel, bronze, and aluminum • Superior attention to detail and fast learner • Commitment to producing quality work • Punctual • Team player and ability to work well with others • Competent with Tig, and Mig • Competent with stick welding • Competent machinist with milling, lathe and band saw experience. • Waterjet cutting and press-brake experience a plus Must have hands-on knowledge of the following: • Measuring • Grinding • Painting • Patina and coloring of metals.
Duties include, but not limited to:
Detail and problem solve large macro projects down to minute details • Communicate with office staff. Interface with Project Management Team for coordination and execution • Review blueprints and drawings for production • Fabricate quality architectural metal and glass designs from raw materials in a heavy equipment shop • Occasional Field Installation • SST Card is a plus • Perform quality control of fabricated product prior to installation
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Supervisor in overseeing construction projects and ensuring they are completed on time and within budget
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to understand project requirements
- Collaborate with the Supervisor to develop construction schedules and allocate resources effectively
- Monitor and enforce quality control measures to ensure work meets industry standards
Experience:
- Previous experience in a construction-related role is preferred
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and interpreting schematics
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain quality control standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
This is a junior-level position, so we are looking for candidates who are eager to learn and grow in their construction career. Training will be provided, but prior experience or knowledge in construction is required.
