Position: Controls Technician

Pay Rate: $30 per hour DOE

Location: Spencer, TN

Position Summary:
The Controls Technician plays a critical role in the organization by ensuring the proper functioning of Programmable Logic Control (PLC) devices and associated equipment. This position involves programming, debugging, and repairing PLC devices to automate manufacturing processes effectively. The Controls Technician collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency and contribute to the overall quality of operations.

Position Responsibilities:

Installation and Repair of PLC Devices:

Install and repair Programmable Logic Control (PLC) devices.
Ensure the seamless integration of PLC devices with other equipment and systems.
Automation of Manufacturing Processes:

Utilize instrumentation and control systems to automate manufacturing processes.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement effective automation solutions.
Development and Modification of Control Applications:

Develop new PLC or Human-Machine Interface (HMI) applications to meet operational requirements.
Modify existing PLC or HMI applications, interfaces, or embedded controls for continuous improvement.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:

Identify and troubleshoot malfunctions in PLC devices and associated systems.
Recommend and implement solutions to improve operational efficiency and product quality.
Documentation:

Document specifications and operating procedures for PLC devices and control systems.
Maintain accurate records of changes, updates, and troubleshooting activities.
Expertise in PLC Brands:

Work with various PLC brands, including Omron and Allen Bradley, and possess familiarity with machine-specific PLCs.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in PLC technology and incorporate relevant knowledge into daily tasks.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Certification or Associate's Degree in PLC programming -OR- More than 2 years of experience working as a PLC or Controls Technician is also acceptable.

Skills and Competencies:

Proficiency in Omron, Allen Bradley, or similar PLC programs

Understand of Kuka robot programming or similar robot programs
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Willingness to stay updated on industry trends and technology advancements.
