\nPrimary Purpose:
Provide Human Resources support across designated business units to include, but not limited to, areas of employee relations, performance management, policies and procedures and employee engagement. Handles all employee relations issues in areas of responsibility including but not limited to reviewing/approving performance improvement plans, performance management, handling complaints and seeing them through to resolution. Contributes to the development of workforce plans and has an understanding of external customer trends and issues in the industry that could potentially impact business

\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
\n\nProvides advice and counsel to members of management and employees related to employment policies, employee relations issues, employment laws and regulations\nManages and resolves complex employee relations issues\nConducts effective, thorough and objective investigations\nMaintains understanding and knowledge of business operations by attending staff meetings and being visible to employees and management\nProvide change management support as needed\nBuilds partnerships with management by identifying human resource solution that support the current and future needs of the business\nWorks with management, peers and other HR colleagues to ensure consistency across the organization relating to policies and/or practices\nProvides human resources consultation and support to designated business units to define and execute HR strategies that enable accomplishment of business objectives\nAct as an impartial advocate to ensure that all employees receive fair and equitable treatment\nProvides guidance to convert strategies into result driven actions\nProvides management coaching/counseling and career development advice for employees when needed\nConducts HR training on various topics (i.e. sexual harassment, New Employee Orientation, Supervisor Policy/Procedure training, interviewing skills, etc.) as needed\nUtilizes knowledge of human resources functions to provide tactical support to line managers\nHandles workforce planning involving re-deployment opportunities and reductions in staff\nAdvises on compensation matters to ensure equity and fairness within the business unit\nCompletes exit interviews to understand turnover trends and proactively implement retention strategies when applicable\nEnsure compliance with all federal, state and local laws\nDevelop, recommended and coordinate activities, functions or programs designed to increase employee retention and satisfaction\nActs as a liaison with other HR functions\nOther duties as assigned\n\n
\nMinimum Skills and Competencies:
\n\nBachelor's degree or equivalent education, training, and work-related experience\n5 years HR Generalist/Business Partner experience with strong experience in employee relations, performance management, training, etc.\nExcellent written and oral communication skills\nSolid organizational, persuasion, and project management skills\nAbility to navigate change and manage conflict at multiple levels within the organization\nComputer proficiency including Excel, Word, PowerPoint\nResults oriented with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks\nStrong reasoning, analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills\nDemonstrated ability to facilitate group presentations\n\n
\nPreferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:
\n\n PHR, SHRM-CP or related designation preferred \n\n

\nTravel Requirements:

\n\nOccasional overnight travel required.\n\n
\n

\nPhysical Requirements:
Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
