Job Objective:
The Snack Shop Coordinator will organize the details of the snack shop. Additionally, will serve as a program assistant with specific responsibilities for resource management and program preparation.
Camp Dates: May through the end of July.
What You Will Do:
- At camper registration, receive campers’ money and keep accurate records of amounts turned in.
- Establish procedures, with the Camp Director, of how the Snack Shop will operate.
- Prepare the Snack Shop to open on time each day according to the camp schedule, including the preparation of any food items that are needed.
- Train staff members assigned in the proper procedures for the snack shop.
- Supervise staff members assigned to work in the snack shop.
- Ensure that campers’ snack shop accounts are being properly charged and maintained.
- Ensure that procedures are followed for the purchase of items by staff members and volunteer leaders.
- Inform the Camp Director when more supplies are needed for the Snack Shop.
- Maintain cleanliness of the Snack Shop.
- Follow proper procedures for handling the cash box when cash is used in the Snack Shop.
- Prior to the end of camp, work with another staff member to determine camper refunds and prepare funds to be returned to campers as they leave camp.
- Work with Camp Director to follow procedures to prepare deposit of cash after refunds have been issued.
- Maintain an inventory of all activity supplies.
- Manage the camper Lost and Found area.
- Lead classes or activities as assigned by youth department staff.
- Assist in setting up for and cleaning up after evening programs and other camp activities.
- Participate as assigned in all camp activities.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness of public areas and restrooms as assigned.
- Assist in maintaining organization and cleanliness of supplies storage areas as assigned.
- Comply with camp policies.
- Observe the spiritual emphasis of camp.
- Keep living quarters clean and neat at all times.
- Practice courtesy in sharing living space with other camp staff members.
- Maintain a positive attitude.
- Participate in staff meetings, evaluation sessions and devotion times.
- Must carry radio while camp is in session on your person.
- Other tasks as assigned by Leadership
Minimum Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.
Education: Be a High School Student or above
Background Checks: Position requires a background check to be completed. Findings may disqualify an individual for this position
Experience: Must be at least age 16. Must have experience working with children. Must have experience in relevant camp activities. Must have experience in food service.
Certifications: Must complete Safe From Harm training within the first 30 days of employment. Must be able to complete provided training courses for camp activities as assigned.
Skills/Abilities:
- Must be a Christian who demonstrates the principles of Christian living.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
- Ability to manage time well in order to accomplish multiple tasks by a set schedule.
- Able to relate God to campers in the natural setting of camp.
- Ability to plan a lesson or activity
- Ability to teach a concept or lead an activity for children or adults
- Ability to train others to lead or teach an activity.
- Able to guide, direct, and supervise daily duties and responsibilities of other staff members, as assigned
- Able to communicate well with other staff, campers and supervisors
Supervisory Responsibility: Supervises other staff members as assigned.

Physical Requirements Include:
- Able to walk for extended periods of time and across uneven terrain.
- Good speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity
- Lifting materials up to 25 pounds and carry it for at least 50 feet.
- Be physically fit enough to keep up with daily camp activities.
Travel: Position may require occasional local travel, including the use of camp vehicles across the camp property.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in a residential camp setting; Work will be expected at varying and flexible times, including overnight and some scheduled weekends.
