40 hours per week, Monday - Friday
$19.50 hourly
The Registrar is responsible for information processing of student enrollments in accordance with school policy. This Position will interface with various departments and personnel to provide information concerning student records and school program completion.
Responsibilities/Duties:

Essential Functions:
Interprets transcripts of incoming students (e.g. cum folders, record card, withdraw grades from previous school, fines/fees from previous school, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring their conformance with school grading, curriculum and course credit systems
Verify credits earned to fulfill graduation requirements
Enter all necessary information in to student information database (i.e. Test scores, immunizations, court documents, records)
Maintain records of students completed coursework including grades, grade changes, academic achievements, and student materials
Assist Teachers with information for student academic planning
Informs Administrators and/or Counselors of possible student credit deficiencies and/or unusual placements for the purpose of ensuring student success
Liaison between schools to procure relevant student records/files
Conduct pre-enrollment interviews with new students and parents
Processes requests from students, other districts, colleges/universities and/or employment agencies (e.g.
transcripts, job verification, etc.) for the purpose of providing requested information
Complete and maintain forms required by the Department of Children Social Services, State Disability, adult programs, and Cal Learn/El Nido
Compile student data
Prepare general, statistical and special reports for management
Attend student and school events (i.e. Graduation, Open House)
Participate in staff meetings (i.e. WASC, staff development), as requested
Adherence to attendance policies
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Physical Requirements:
Mental Demands: Ability to process a large volume of paperwork, data, requests.
Finger Dexterity; using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, using calculator, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together. In addition, must be able to handle a high volume of paperwork, which will involve filing, faxing, and making copies, etc.
Talking; especially where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Average Hearing; able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
Visual Abilities; good acuity necessary to constantly view the computer monitor, prepare or inspect documents or operate office machinery.
Physical Strength; sedentary work. Sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10lbs. of force occasionally (almost all office jobs).
Frequent multi-tasking, changing of task priorities, and repetitious, exacting work required.
Occasionally working in a noisy, distracting environment with frequent deadline pressures.

Minimum Qualification, Job Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Minimum of 3 years office experience or a minimum of 3 years in a public school setting handling student, school information processing responsibilities
Experience using student information databases
Experience with word processing and spreadsheets softwares
Excellent record keeping techniques
Effective communication, reading and writing skills
Effective planning and organizational skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to collaborate with various levels of personnel
Ability to use computer technology proficiently
Ability to meet schedules and timelines
Understanding of codes, regulations & laws related to student enrollment, graduation and transfer
