Software Support Engineer

In office M-Fri in our Calabasas, CA location
Looking for a motivated fullstack developer to join our team as a Software Support Engineer in PHP. The position offers a lot of opportunity to learn and grow as a developer. As a Software Support Engineer, you'll be a key member of our Technology team, contributing cross-departmentally to create web pages that fuse compelling design and current technologies. The ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running, possess a strong curiosity and desire to ideate and explore new features to improve experiences. You'll participate in discussions about product ideation, proof-of-concepts, and give feedback on ideas.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or relevant field
- Frontend and backend application development experience for 3 years
- In depth knowledge of object-oriented PHP and Symfony or other similar PHP Frameworks
- Hands-on experience using Git, Github, or other similar source code version control systems
- Hands on experience with SQL schema design, and Design Patterns desirable
- Experience with MySQL or similar relational databases
- An understanding of JavaScript fundamentals including DOM manipulation
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Creative and efficient problem solver
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical topics to management and non-technical audiences
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain web-based PHP application on AWS
- Enhance the existing PHP-based REST API
- Work through the entire web application development life cycle right from requirements to delivery and post launch support
- Tackle a wide variety of coding problems throughout the stack, including learning new languages and design patterns
- Keep abreast of new trends and best practices in web development
- Need to work in office; be available during regular hours as well as occasional off-hours availability depending on project needs
