What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse (RN) position at Legacy Home Health?
The RN/LPN is responsible for the direct care of clients with service agreements indicating the need/desire of such services. Nursing services shall be provided in accordance with the scope of nursing practice, laws and associated rules, and the client’s service plan.
Home Health Registered Nurse duties and responsibilities
- Observe and record patient behavior
- Perform physical examinations and diagnostic tests
- Collect patient health history
- Counsel and educate patients and their families on treatment plans
- Administer medication, change wound dressings and care for other treatment options
- Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions when appropriate
- Consult with supervisors and doctors to decide on the best treatment plan for patients
- Direct and supervise nurses, nurse assistants and nurse aides
- Research ways to improve healthcare processes and improve patient outcomes
Requirements
- Proven experience as a registered nurse
- Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination etc.) and willingness to follow them at all times
- A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Responsible and compassionate
- Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Patient with excellent problem-solving skills
- BSc or other diploma from a nursing program
- Valid nursing license
