Description

Position Summary: Twin Smokers BBQ seeking experienced candidate for the position of Assistant Manager. We are looking for an energetic and organized hospitality leader that is willing to lead the team and jump in when needed. It all started with a love for tried and true barbecue and a passion for regionally inspired meats. That, in turn, kick-started something special here at Legacy Ventures Restaurants—a search for the greatest barbecue in the country.

Our culinary team traveled the country for the best barbecue in the business, doing their fair share of research and figuring out how to bring all of their favorite barbecue flavors from Texas, North and South Carolina, Kansas City, and Memphis together in one spot—all while adding a Georgia flare. Thus Twin Smokers BBQ was born, promising a delicious, good time for lovers of smoked meats, fresh sides, craft beer and strong cocktails to match.

Our focus is on a high-quality, slow-cooked barbecue and our goal to share our favorites with Atlanta. We feature regionally inspired BBQ. Our “Wood Library” showcases four different types of wood used for the two styles of ‘cue. Our Texas-Style BBQ is smoked over Texas Mesquite and Post Oak while Southern-Style is smoked over White Oak and Hickory. This unique “Twin Smoker” approach, our locally sourced products, and our dedicated team make the difference.

We don’t compromise and we don’t mass produce. The BBQ we are serving today was smoked while you were sleeping! We may run out but don’t worry, we’ll have more tomorrow…

This position is responsible for managing the daily restaurant operations to achieve planned financial and human resource goals for the asset as well as operating within Company and brand standards. This includes maintaining the physical condition of the asset and protecting the owner’s assets. Responsible for assisting in the management of the daily operations of the restaurant and provides professional leadership and direction to front of the house personnel. Supervises dining area and Banquet areas in an effort to provide the highest quality of service and guest satisfaction. Effectively schedules shifts and ensures that all staff members perform their job duties to the company standard and communicates and enforces HR policies and procedures consistently. Trains or monitors the training of staff members providing guidance and feedback to guarantee a positive and successful training experience. Identifies interviews and presents quality candidates to General Manager available for hire as needed. Completes any/all administrative tasks and duties consistent with HR. Participates in maintenance of equipment, facility, and grounds through the use of a preventative maintenance program. Ultimately provides safe working and customer environment with safe work behaviors and action plans.

Primary Duties:

  1. Prepares daily production list and floor chart.
  2. Ensures that all staff complies with assigned shifts and attendance policies.
  3. Verifies that kitchen staff follows all recipes and portions servings correctly.
  4. Keeps bar, dining area, office and storage areas clean and organized.
  5. Ensures all product ordering is done timely and within standard.
  6. Receives food and alcohol orders using procedures as directed.
  7. Knowledge of all preparation methods, ingredients, portion size for all menu items offered.
  8. Sets excellent customer service by following guest service standards.
  9. Actively participates as a member of the management team.
  10. Manages and motivates all staffing levels throughout shift.
  11. Oversees overall labor and food cost to budgetary requirements.
  12. Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the General Manager at any time.
  13. Consistently applies all alcohol serving procedures with regard to beverage service standards, awareness standards and our ID policy.

Qualifications


Qualifications:

  • College or hospitality experience training preferred.
  • A minimum of 1 year working as an hourly supervisor or restaurant manager- BBQ experience a plus
  • Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge.
  • Aloha experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of basic training techniques.
  • Awareness of local, state and federal health and sanitation laws.
  • Computer proficiencies in Excel, Word, Outlook required
  • Ability to memorialize standards, best practices, recipes and SOPs
  • Able to lift 25-35 lbs on a regular basis
  • Able to stand, walk and climb stairs 90% of the shift
  • Ability to work in a high-energy and demanding environment
  • Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team
  • Ability to deliver information in a clear and respectable manner to fellow Team Members, customers, and vendors
  • Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions with customers, vendors, and Team Members
  • Ability to follow directions and procedures; effective time management and organization skills
  • Must be flexible to work evenings & weekends, as needed
