[We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a(n) Electrician to help support our Flooring business. Did you know Leggett & Platt Inc. is the largest manufacturer of carpet cushion and hard surface underlayment in the United States? Our Flooring businesses manufacture and distribute foam-, rubber-, and fiber-based flooring underlayment for residential and commercial use. As a(n) Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various electrical systems and equipment within our manufacturing facility.
So, what will you be doing as a(n) Electrician?
- Install Motor Control Centers (MCC), factory lighting systems, and Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), including programming and troubleshooting VFDs.
- Install and maintain local disconnects, motors, and motor/gearboxes, including troubleshooting and replacing bearings.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of troubleshooting digital and analog devices such as RTDs, level/pressure transmitters, and valve positioners, as well as their integration with PLC I/O points.
- Provide electrical connectivity to new equipment and perform necessary wiring for new construction, including assembling and installing conduits, outlets, panels, and junction boxes.
- Perform testing, calibration, repair, rebuilding, maintenance, modification, and installation of electrical equipment as required.
- Possess a thorough understanding of electrical equipment functions, electrical theory, and switchgear maintenance, with a focus on 480V and below systems.
- Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work directly with and repair electrical systems and their interfaces with plant equipment.
- Adhere to lock-out/tag-out procedures and maintain a strong safety orientation and record.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
- Ability to read and understand bills of material, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
- Journeyman electrician license or completed at least 2 years of an apprenticeship program.
- Proven experience in industrial electrical work, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with PLC systems and programming is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
