Leidos is seeking an experienced Classification Manager for our client’s mission-focused program within a challenging, dynamic setting located in the DC, Maryland, Virginia (DMV) region. A successful candidate in this position will assess the classification and markings of classified and unclassified written products including analytic reports, policy documents, websites, budget spreadsheets, and more in accordance with client’s policies and procedures, and security classification guides, and explain those determinations to leaders and the workforce.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Reviewing various written products to recommend approval or denial, in whole or in part, of requests for public disclosure and explaining those determinations to leaders and the workforce.
- Reviewing records to determine if they can be declassified.
- Developing and maintaining records for tracking the status and adjudication of materials submitted to the office.
- Planning, coordinating, and documenting the client’s classification, declassification, and prepublication determinations. The customer may require that the work be performed during its core hours of 0600
- -1900 EST Monday to Friday.
Basic Qualifications:
- TS/SCI with Poly.
- Able to consult and coordinate with stakeholders and other organizations to ensure consistent application of public disclosure policies and procedures.
- Able to develop and implement strategies to identify information-protection issues and problems, including those resulting from unauthorized disclosure, inadvertent release, declassification, and the collective effect of releases to mitigate those issues and problems.
- Minimum 5 years working with or in the IC.
- Typically requires a BA degree and 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience.
- Previous work drafting/editing/reviewing senior-level policy and/or strategy documents.
- Previous work drafting/editing government documents for public release.
- Ability to assist groups to arrive at consensus on complex topics.
- Critical thinking ability to recognize when information supporting decision making is incomplete or requires greater context.
- Detail oriented with excellent proof-reading skills.
- Ability to maintain and update the IC Marking Systems Register and Manual.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
Salary : $87,100 - $157,450
