Description

The Leidos Innovations Center (LInC) is seeking our next Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis Engineer to join our growing, high-performance team executing applied research and development in electro-optical (EO) technology. You will primarily work on-site at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, OH where you will develop, interpret, and integrate algorithms into high fidelity simulation models, in addition to using and analyzing data from EO/IR systems and instrumentation to support program objectives of critical importance to the US Air Force.

Your day to day:

  • Apply signal and image processing principles and methods to analyze data and solve problems including: automation of data analysis, characterization of new and existing sensor systems, development of new and improved data analysis techniques.
  • Develop, integrate, and test new simulation models and algorithms.
  • Utilize GPU clusters to accelerate MATLAB and C codebases.
  • Perform modeling and simulation tasks with off-the-shelf and custom developed tools.
  • Develop scenarios for testing, perform prediction and post run data review and analysis to identify root causes and trends.
  • Verify and validate models and algorithms within high fidelity simulations.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and plan methods of approach and organize means to achieve solutions to complex technical problems.
  • Develop synthetic data for algorithm tradespace analysis.
  • Apply statistical methods to ensure results are complete and accurate.
  • Develop test plans and document results in test report.
  • Communicate with team and customers to determine requirements and relevant technical approaches.
  • Mentor staff in areas of expertise.

This is you:

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering, Physics, Applied Math, Electrical Engineering or similar field, and 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
  • Strong understanding of MATLAB and SIMULINK.
  • Familiarity with object-oriented programing.
  • Understanding of signal and image processing techniques.
  • Knowledge of principles, concepts, and techniques of scientific analysis, statistics, and mathematical methodologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Leadership, project management, presentation, and collaboration skills.

You will wow us even more if you have these skills:

  • Active DoD Secret or higher clearance.
  • Master’s or Doctorate in Engineering or similar field.
  • Experience with other programming languages like Python, C/C , or Java
  • Experience with EO/IR systems.
  • Experience with infrared focal plane array including digital/digital pixel focal plane arrays.
  • Experience working in a Research and Development (R&D) environment.
  • Familiarity in GPU and CUDA programming.
  • Experience with using a GPU cluster.
  • Experience with Linux.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $63,050.00 - $113,975.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
