Among other things, our Contract Business Analyst role is responsible for collaborating with business and technical stakeholders to develop functional and technical requirements in collaboration with our team members.
You can expect to be exposed to various software development projects (e.g., mobile apps, websites, web apps, etc.) with differing levels of complexity (e.g., brochure marketing website, eCommerce, Internet of Things, etc.). You’ll work with stakeholders from a variety of industries (e.g., healthcare, agriculture, non-profits).

Responsibilities:
- Serve as a liaison between technical and business.
- Own the process of defining and writing clear, concise technical requirements (backed by insight from the development team).
- Work with QA team to write functional tests based on business requirements
- Conduct independent research.
- Analyze the impact of decisions on dependent systems.
- Troubleshoot and solve problems.
- Define reporting and alerting requirements.
- Help design, document, and maintain system processes.
- Constantly be on the lookout for uncovering areas of improvement, discover issues, and deliver better value to the clients.
- Provide recommendations for possible process changes to help optimize currently. procedures in support of maximizing outcomes.
- Run workshops and training sessions if needed.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems.
- Document and communicate the results of your efforts.
- Manage competing resources and priorities.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of Business Analyst, Project Management, or related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, Marketing, IT, Logistics, or other relevant areas preferred.
- Technical skills and knowledge are not required however you must be open to learning about different technologies and technical aspects of a project.
- Must be organized and able to manage time and personal schedule.
- Experience with agile software methodologies
- Comfortable using a wide variety of SaaS, BI, and Google Workspaces tools.
- Excellent documentation skills.
- Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.

- Experience with Tableau, Metabase, or other data analysis and visualization tools
- Experience as a Project Manager
What Might Be Different About Managing Projects with Lelander:
- Our contractors are paid an agreed hourly rate, and typically work between 10-35 hours per week. Hours are not guaranteed but are flexible depending on the project and contractor's desired workload and availability.
- Lelander’s business hours are 9:00-5:00 pm CST. Our contractors are typically available throughout the workday, but hours can be flexible depending on your project load.
- Lelander’s mission is to support a network of freelance talent and we look for individuals who are interested in contracting permanently. We are a good fit for those who have tested the waters at agencies or similar organizations and are looking for something with more flexibility in their workday, with the ability to work remotely and have a say in what clients or projects they work on.
- While many benefits come with this role for someone who is looking for this type of work environment and structure, this position does not offer healthcare or other related benefits.
- Our office is headquartered in St. Louis and offers space to anyone in our network who is interested in working here. At the same time, our network of talent is mostly remote and is spread across the continental US, as are our clients. Likely, you will only work remotely with your team and clients or may facilitate meetings that are partially in-person, partially remote.
