Job Summary
Within the People & Culture (P&C) function, the P&C Compliance Manager develops and administers various human resources strategies & programs in areas necessary to ensure the organization remains in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.
Essential Job Functions, Duties and Responsibilities

Policy Implementation/Development:
- Manage HR policies within the Americas region including periodic review and updates, creation of new policies as required and securing approval for publishing policies within the electronic policy manual.
- Remain current on federal and state laws and regulations regarding employment for the locations in which we operate to effectively provide recommendations to process/policy in order to ensure compliance.
- Revises People & Culture policies, programs, processes, and guidelines to meet the needs of the organization, to comply with legal requirements, and to promote positive employee relations
Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity:
- Responsible for all compliance issues/matters relating to Affirmative Action Plans (AAP) and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) including policy, program creation, process recommendations, and audits.
- Create and maintain annual affirmative action plans including alignment of AAP targets with business unit objectives across the region
- Educate management and leadership on annual EEO targets and goals. Conduct quarterly analysis of progress towards set goals and communicate progress & gaps back to leadership.
- Ensure continuous education and training of federal guidelines and procedures for Affirmative Action programs for relevant people manager and leadership.
- Prepare and manage annual EEO-1 and Vet-100 reporting.
- Equal employment opportunity and affirmative action programs consultant/expert. Conducts various special studies/reports related to hiring and EEO/affirmative action. Includes compiling statistics on applicant flow, hiring, terminations, promotions, salaries, training, transfers and other EEO related data to monitor effectiveness of EEO/AA programs. Prepares reports for management. (25%)
- Create and monitor EEO and affirmative action developmental areas and develop strategies and programs to achieve resolution. Monitor effectiveness to progress organizational success against diversity strategy.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensures compliance with all state and federal employment and labor laws and governmental compliance requirements. Serves as a consultant to the HR team and business units to support the monitoring of day-to-day company activities to ensure compliance with all regulations.
- Interacts with internal and external counsel to achieve liability avoidance and, where necessary, manage pre-litigation activities such as providing requested documents, policies, employee data, etc.
- Serve as the liaison with governmental agencies, professional organizations, and other representatives on regulatory audits or compliance issues.
- Interpret and disseminate information on regulatory matters including facilitation of programs for managers & HR Partners to increase awareness of equal opportunity issues and legal requirements.
- Develops and facilitates required regulatory training to maintain compliance including Harassment, EEO, Code of Conduct, etc.
- Manage compliance initiatives such as annual policy acknowledgements, annual Code of Conduct certification and conflicts of interest disclosures and bring to resolution, mandatory training, conducting internal audits.
- Manage the anonymous employee hotline to take complaints through resolution including, distribution of complaints to relevant HR Partners to investigate and address disciplinary actions, maintaining the online database and posting responses to reporters, posting investigation notes from the HR Partners into the online tool for documentation purposes, closing out complaints upon resolution.
General Background and Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
- 5 - 8 years’ experience in a People & Culture/Human Resources department.
- Knowledge of People & Culture/Human Resources policies and procedures and their application in the day-to-day work environment.
- Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize workload.
- Familiar with applicable state and federal employment laws.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain highly confidential information, consistent with the function of Human Resources.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful and flexible.
- Proven proficiency in current corporate software packages, including basic knowledge of Human Resource Information Systems and online tools.
- Training platform skills, with the ability to conduct and facilitate mandatory training programs.
