Purpose/Objective

The Associate Director, Talent Acquisition is responsible for supporting the management and execution of Talent Acquisition strategy across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Ownership of strategic Talent Acquisition functions for the United States, Canada and Mexico.
  • Responsible for management and allocation of region specific recruiting team.
  • Handle full cycle recruitment and staffing (requisition through offer)
  • Facilitate in-depth discussions with hiring managers regarding recruitment process, strategy, timelines, etc. Ensure proper documentation/approvals are in place prior to initiating recruitment.
  • Review and provide guidance/recommendations to hiring managers on content of job descriptions to ensure Compensation can determine appropriate position salary range.
  • Leverage internal resources (current employees, employee referrals) as well as internet sources such as Indeed, LinkedIn, etc. to ensure an adequate supply of qualified candidates is generated for each position. Write/revise internet job ads in alignment with LEO culture and CVI. Monitor spend to ensure a fiscally responsible utilization of recruitment budget.
  • Identify, partner, and manage relationships with external recruitment partners, i.e. contingent/retained staffing firms. Negotiate rates within company guidelines and achieve cost savings where possible. Ensure all recruitment vendor contracts have been reviewed and approved per guidelines prior to initiating recruitment.
  • Conduct initial telephone screening and in-person interviews to ensure candidates meet position qualifications. Implement behavioral interviewing techniques based on LEO Competency Model. Determine most qualified candidates to recommend to hiring managers. Ensure internal candidates expressing interest in position are qualified and recommended by current manager.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to hiring departments regarding behavioral interviewing techniques. Create and disseminate customized interviewing guides based on employee job level. Facilitate consensus meetings with interview team to ensure most qualified candidate is selected. Ensure global hiring managers understand U.S. laws and regulations regarding selection of candidates.
  • Provide direction to and oversight of Human Resources Coordinator to ensure interview schedules/candidate travel are arranged on a timely basis. Work closely with Field Management, external recruiting consultants and travel provider to coordinate field interview schedules.
  • Initiate salary offer recommendations; extend/negotiate salary offers. Recommend salary offer adjustments necessary to attract talent and based on knowledge of position, salary range, and with consideration of both internal/external equity.
  • Coordinate with internal colleagues (HR, Training, etc.) with regard to start dates, new hire processes, etc. Complete all documentation required and disseminate to HR staff to prepare offer letters and initiate background check/onboarding processes.
  • Provide timely, relevant updates to all internal and external candidates regarding status of candidacy. Ensure all communications reflect professionalism and culture indicative of LEO.
  • Provide expertise, solutions, and guidance to our HR Business Partners, recruiters, L&D Partners, ERG Chairs, managers and employees on tactical ways to meet our D&I goals
  • Evaluate and maintain relationships with external organizations (i.e., industry, non-profit, and university groups) that align with our strategic goals

Job Specific Requirements
  • BA/BS in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or other relevant field required.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of exempt-level human resources experience, with at least 4 years of progressive, full-cycle recruitment experience required.
  • Minimum 3 years experience managing Talent Acquisition Teams.
  • Pharmaceutical Industry experience preferred.
  • Experience in working with various recruitment sources - Internet, staffing agencies, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies/procedures and U.S. employment laws and regulations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues tactfully
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail along with excellent verbal/written and presentation skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
