Job Summary :
This role will be responsible for assessing the creditworthiness of potential customers, managing outstanding accounts, and ensuring timely collections.
The Credit & Collections Analyst plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of the organization by minimizing bad debt and optimizing cash flow.
Key Responsibilities :
- Collections Management
- Monitor accounts receivable follow up on past-due accounts and negotiate payment plans as necessary.
- Document all collection activities in the company’s ERP system (Full Circle).
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in collections management.
- Prepare regular aging reports on the status of delinquent accounts and collection efforts.
- Customer Relations
- Handle customer inquiries and disputes regarding invoices and payments.
- Provide exceptional customer service to resolve issues and maintain positive relationships with customers.
- Process Improvement
- Implement effective collection strategies to minimize bad debt.
- Assist with the Review and update of credit policies and procedures.
- Communicate with sales staff and internal support departments to resolve disputes and past due invoices to minimize and eliminate recurring disputes.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to improve credit and collections processes.
- Provide support during internal and external audits.
- Creditworthiness
- Evaluate credit applications and determine creditworthiness references, credit reports, and other pertinent information to authorize new customers within company guidelines.
- Set and adjust credit limits based on credit score.
- Identify and escalate high-risk accounts to management.
- Collaborate with sales and operations to manage credit risk.
Education / Experience :
- BA in Accounting, Business, or related field required.
- 3-5 years of previous commercial collections experience
Skills and Abilities :
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have problem-solving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook)
- Must have experience working with accounting systems (ERP systems)
Working Conditions :
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and / or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- This position requires but is not limited to lifting, bending, twisting, pulling, pushing, listening, and speaking with internal and external clients.
