About the Job

Leslie’s is seeking an experienced Human Resource Manager with a key focus on Compensation to support our rapidly growing organization. This position will report to the Director of Compensation & Benefits, where the candidate will be an important member of a team helping to drive Leslie’s compensation philosophy into the future. The candidate will partner with the Finance Team, business leaders, and other HR functions on compensation-related matters, provide accurate, data-driven analyses, recommend innovative solutions to resolve wage-related disparities, and help to ensure that the Company’s compensation processes run efficiently. The right candidate is confident around large data and flourishes in a fast-paced, high performing culture that values strategic business growth, timely communication, teamwork, and achieving results. This person will be self-motivated and detail-oriented with a strong tendency toward data analytics and project management.

In This Role, You Will

  • Develop and administer several compensation programs including salary planning processes, equity cycles, promotions, and adjustments.
  • Research best practices and trends and perform deep-dive analyses on the competitiveness and effectiveness of existing compensation plans and present findings and alternative solutions that are cost-effective and consistent with market data and Leslie’s compensation philosophy to the Director of Compensation & Benefits
  • Collect and analyze market data, maintain salary survey data, and manage all benchmarking activities.
  • Determine competitive pay and develop recommendations for annual salary structure and budget adjustments to facilitate internal and external equity in pay plans.
  • Effectively partner with the Finance Team, business leaders, and other HR functions to manage, consult, and resolve compensation issues through the use of creative and strategic guidance especially surrounding new positions, transfers, and promotions.
  • Assist in preparing analyses and materials for executive team review meetings and other leadership presentations.
  • Develop and deliver compensation tools and reports to support the business and maintain the compensation infrastructure within Leslie’s HRIS.
  • Oversee the performance management process for direct reports; maintain and update position descriptions and leveling guidance and career paths for individual employee growth.
  • Support audits related to compensation controls.
  • Perform supplementary duties on a required or as needed basis to support compensation activities
Qualifications - External
  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in compensation, finance, or financial services with an in-depth knowledge of core compensation terminology and best practices.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel and management of compensation tools.
  • Must have strong PC skills including MS Office suites and HRIS.
  • Strong management experience with great interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with designing and administering compensation and incentive plan.
  • Comfort with preparing data-driven materials and reporting to executive team members, the Finance Team, and business leaders.
  • Experience with developing and implementing scalable procedures and processes.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills and a track record for executing and auditing assignments and projects.
  • Extremely detail oriented, able to align with the big picture, and represent a common point-of-view across multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of current compensation trends. Be a creative thinker who can apply experience and innovate.
  • Maintain discretion in confidentiality, decision-making, and strategic planning.
  • A great time manager, communicator, presenter, and is interactive and engaging.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required for employment

Extra Points If You Have

  • A master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Experience in Human Resources supplemental to a college degree is preferred.
  • A compensation certification, i.e., a CCP, is highly desired.
  • Experience with sales incentive compensation, executive compensation, or equity compensation.
  • Familiarity with Ultipro/UKG system.
  • Experience in the outdoor recreation industry.
