Floor Manager
JOB SUMMARY
A floor manager is responsible for supervising the general operations of a specific department in an organization. Floor manager tasks include assisting customers, ensuring prompt resolution of clients' inquiries, distributing tasks to the staff, and monitoring the employees' performance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS; include but not limited to:
- Cooperating with the general manager, and assisting with anything from project planning to staff management.
- Nurturing positive working relationships with staff.
- Delegating daily tasks.
- Addressing any issues in a timely fashion.
- Supervising staff and controlling merchandise.
- Ensuring company policies and procedures are followed.
- Setting a good example for staff.
- Train staff to perform allocated roles.
- Manage inventory.
- Assist customers with any queries or requests.
QUALFICATIONS:
- Great interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Highly organized.
- Good observation skills.
- An ability to deliver constructive criticism.
- Computer literate and basic Math skills.
- An ability to identify weaknesses and provide coaching where necessary.
- Leadership and time-management skills
- Knowledge of proper food handling techniques and procedures
- Demonstrated customer and personal service skills
EDUCATION AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED
- An associate degree or college education in restaurant and hospitality management or institutional food service management
- At least three years of experience with a dining establishment
- Prior experience in a managerial position
- Prior experience in Sales would be advantageous.
