Strategic Messaging Manager

The Strategic Messaging Manager is a hybrid position based in Lexington, KY that plays a pivotal role in shaping and communicating Lexmark's brand, offerings, and path to market strategy. This position is crucial for translating deep insights from our brand, market positioning, target audience, and organizational goals into compelling messaging strategies that resonate with customers and buying groups. The successful candidate will drive the communication strategy across various channels, ensuring alignment with the company's broader objectives and market demands. They will also engage directly on strategic marketing initiatives, often leading early marketing efforts as we establish and bring to market new offerings.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic Messaging Platform Development: Craft a comprehensive messaging strategy for our path to market offerings, ensuring it aligns with and propels the company's objectives forward.

• Message Identification: Determine core messages and identify the most effective channels and tactics for disseminating these messages to the target audience.

• Content Generation: Support the creation and distribution of content, ensuring consistency with the strategic messaging platform and the overall marketing goals. Work closely with internal and external partners (copywriting, design, campaigns team, agencies) as deliverables are developed.

• Market Analysis: Continuously analyze market trends and audience preferences to refine and adapt messaging strategies, ensuring they remain impactful and relevant. Understand current trends and best practices, specifically for B2B buying groups and behavior.

• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with departments such as portfolio marketing, PR, and sales to seamlessly integrate the communication strategy across all platforms. Must possess a diplomatic disposition and the capacity to harmonize a variety of perspectives into a cohesive strategy that aligns with Lexmark's overarching goals.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, a related field OR equivalent experience.

• At least 7 years of experience in a marketing, business development or communications role, with a proven track record of developing and implementing successful messaging strategies.

• Experience in B2B marketing and a deep understanding of the tech industry preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to develop comprehensive, effective communication strategies that align with business objectives.

• Strong understanding of marketing principles, communication strategies, and the ability to effectively articulate a brand's value proposition.

• Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to plan, execute, and oversee strategic initiatives.

• Ability to work effectively across teams, departments, and with external partners to achieve strategic alignment and cohesive messaging.

• Must be agile and responsive to the evolving market conditions, with the capability to refine strategies as needed.

• Must live within a commutable distance to Lexington, KY for a hybrid schedule work environment.
