What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Coordinator position at LGC Limited?
LGC Biosearch Technologies is looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized team player to join its operations group as Lab Coordinator in Middleton, WI. The Lab Coordinator will support the overall services lab at the LGC-Middleton Site (primarily the Eagle Drive facility). This individual will serve as the primary point person for facilities coordination and lab consumable and reagent inventory management. The Coordinator will partner closely with local supply planning, manufacturing, warehousing/logistics teams to effectively execute their responsibilities.
This position is regularly based out of the company's site in Middleton, WI, with standard working hours of 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential functions satisfactorily:
- Coordinate and maintain the lab consumable and chemical inventory systems
- Clean and maintain labware as needed
- Coordinate and execute material movement between multiple local locations
- Support identified process improvement initiatives and corrective actions
- Contribute to an effective, safe, and clean lab environment through various support activities
- Effectively communicate results to the Direct Manager and/or the lab services team
- Diligently learn and follow the requirements of the site’s quality management system
- May address additional administrative or operational projects or tasks to support site effectiveness
- Adhere to company safety policies, including Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) policy
- Perform other duties as required or assigned by management to meet business needs
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent degree
- Prior work experience in a lab environment, either academic or commercial
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience managing materials for an academic or commercial laboratory
- Industry experience in life sciences, biotechnology, or manufacturing organization
- Exposure to ERP systems, ideally IFS
