Who you are:

  • Required: Minimum high school diploma
  • Preferred: 2 years experience within a financial or mortgage environment
  • Preferred: 2 years mortgage servicing experience
  • Preferred: General Ledger balancing experience
  • Innovative self-starter with the ability to work independently and as a contributor in a team environment
  • Detail- oriented with strong organizational & problem solving skills; ability to multi-task and reprioritize objectives as needed

What you'll do:

This position is responsible for boarding, funding, and auditing mortgage loans. The Mortgage Servicing Specialist will also assist the Director of Operations with the training of employees and control of theworkflow.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the completeness and accuracy of the loan servicing reporting requirements and necessary documentation as required by regulatory compliance and secondary marketing servicing guidelines
  • Work closely with the Director of Operations to establish, review, maintain and implement procedures within the department to insure employees are adequately trained and have the appropriate tools to complete their assigned duties
  • Advise, inform and keep Director of Operations abreast of any problems or corrections that may be necessary to improve the operation of the department
  • Review and resolve complaints registered against the servicing department prior to forwarding the complaint to the Director of Operations
  • Review the accuracy of Investor reporting as required by FHLMC
  • Perform the daily routine servicing functions as required and or designated by Director of Operations with completeness and accuracy, which includes onboarding, funding, loan shipments, processing payoffs and HELOC advances, etc.
  • Scan and upload loan packages into Synergy
  • Perform post-closing audit reviews to ensure documents are executed properly
  • Perform internal audit reviews on the sub-servicer; paid in full loans, daily exceptions, missing documents, OFAC, escrow disbursements, payment application, etc.
  • Assist in administering, reporting and maintaining compliance and procedures for retention/modification requests
  • Assist Director of Operations and Secondary Market Coordinator with tracking, reconciliation, and disposal process of REO properties
  • Work as the liaison to the Director of Operations in her absence
  • Maintain effective knowledge of the Credit Union’s products and services
  • Employees are required by the SAFE Act to be registered and licensed with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
  • Be familiar with and follow all policies, procedures and processes which have been established in order to meet compliance requirements of all applicable federal regulations. The regulations include but are not limited to the Privacy Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA),Reg. CC and Patriot Act.
